A customised 6 Day Farm

Once ordered through a local distributor, the unit is dispatched to the customer's property, unpacked and made ready for production within hours of its arrival.

The technology can also be expanded to increase the production of animal feed. For instance, we can build a system for feedlots that can produce up to 100 tonnes of fodder each day with minimal labour inputs.

A larger system would automatically dispense and spread the seed in the growing areas, watering would be strategically placed along the system and the harvesting would be automated. The fodder would come out of the unit directly into a truck ready to dispense into feeding troughs of penned cattle. One unit would feed 12,000 head of cattle.

What are the nutritive values of the seed?

One could then hypothesise that the nutrients in the 6-day-old hydroponically sprouted seed are available to the animal but are captured in the vitro dry matter digestibility procedure, which is a recognised procedure for measuring energy.

We will be undertaking a scientific controlled study of the benefits of sprouted barley in 2013 under the supervision of a senior research officer of the Department of Agriculture. The study will attempt to quantify the results and explain the weight gains and the increase in fatty issue of animals fed on this type of sprouted seed.
Of course, the results of the trial will be made public. If you would like to be kept informed of the trials, please let us know.

Our system is a cost-effective way to produce nutritious fodder day after day.
